On Thursday, Crunchyroll announced the nominees for the 2025 Anime Awards. Some of Polygons favorite anime of the last year — including Frieren: Beyond Journeys End, Dan Da Dan, Delicious in Dungeon, AND The Apothecary Diaries — came through with a ton of nominations, withe Frieren leading the pack with 29 nominations. (Dan Da Dan has 22, with Delicious in Dungeon at 16 and The Apothecary Diaries at 13). All four of those, along with Kaiju No. 8 and Solo Leveling, were nominated for Anime of the Year.

On the film end, the bittersWeet Look Back is nominated alongside the Haikyu!!, Spy x Family, and My Hero Academia movies.

Voting for the 2025 Anime Awards is open now. Fans can vote once each day on the Crunchyroll website from now until April 14 at 11:59 PM PDT. The results will be announced during the 2025 Anime Awards ceremony on May 25, which will be livestreamed.
